Sir Sean Connery "stood home" (that's gangtser talk for passing on an opportunity to make a score, riiiight?) on an offer to play Gandalf in the LOTR trilogy for a measly back end of 10-15% of the worldwide box office because... wait for it... he "did not understand the complicated plot of J.R.R. Tolkien's masterpiece."
